Committee Meetings:
The Thetford Housing Committee is currently meeting virtually. Click on the calendar link below for meeting days and times, as well as Zoom link information.
We’re conducting this informal survey to engage with you on Housing issues. The Committee meets each month and discusses everything from anecdotal information about the housing crisis to new regulations and legislation affecting state and regional housing situations. We hardly ever have non-committee or non-partner committee members at our meetings, so this is a way to hear what you’re thinking!
Thank you for completing this questionnaire! Sarah Martel, Pippa Drew, Missy Krzal, and Cathee Clement

Funding Opportunity through the VT Rental Rehab Program
One way to address our region's housing crisis is to bring vacant rental
units in disrepair back online. The VT Rental Rehab Program is a
state-sponsored program that offers grants up to $30,000 per rental unit
brought back to Vermont Rental Health Code guidelines and rented at or
below HUD fair market rates. The funds can also be used for the creation of
new units such as Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). The program is
administered in our region by Windham-Windsor Housing Trust (Windsor
County) and Downstreet Housing and Community Development (Orange County).
If you own a property that could benefit from this program, visit the links
below to apply or learn more.

The Thetford Housing Committee understands that the housing crisis in our region can feel overwhelming. It can be hard to see how any one of us can make a difference, especially if we don't have the resources to build an ADU, an apartment in our house, or other kind of housing unit. But there are ways we each can help with solutions and with that in mind we compiled the information below. These are just ideas and the list will be updated periodically as we learn about more options.
